Gastritis
Introduction:
Chronic gastritis is a medical condition where there is inflammation of stomach lining. Many factors are responsible for this inflammation. Infection with helicobacter pylori, reflux of bile juices, auto immune disorders and pain killers may cause this gastritis problem. In some cases chemical injury by excessive strong tea and coffee, ingesting chemical poison or any irritant is also a cause. Hurry (no time for eating/irregular eating), worry (stress) and curry (spicy fried food) are the three main culprits behind more than 90%of the cases of chronic gastritis.
Ayurveda View:
Ayurveda describes chronic gastritis disease as amlapitta roga. The pitta dosha is vitiated and the person gets sour erectations, burning in chest along with indigestion. Ayurveda considers pitta aggravating food like fermented food, spices, fried food, tobacco etc the cause of amalapitta.
Treatment:
Herbs used in treatment of this disorder:
Amalaki, Yashthimadhu, Bhringraj, Gairik and saunf.
Effective Home remedies:
Taking Fennel seeds and sugar candy after meals has been practiced in many parts of India and is a good remedy to prevent amlapitta (gastritis).
Chewing mulethi stem 3-4 times a day is very effective for acidity problem. It neutralizes the stomach acids.
